OneFest
BACKGROUND
OneFest is a week-long arts and culture festival held across Mansfield and Ashfield in Nottinghamshire. The primary aim of the festival is to smash the stigma and segregation that those with learning disabilities and autistic people face in society and to celebrate their communities.
APPROACH
We were asked to raise the profile of OneFest – the UK’s fastest-growing learning disability event – to audiences in the heart of the Midlands. Through storytelling with its founders, and the talented individuals that participate in the arts and culture event, along with consistent liaison with journalists, we helped to raise awareness and increase attendance figures.
RESULTS
We drafted both a pre-event and post-event press release highlighting the week’s activities and coordinated key Midlands broadcast interviews across ITV News Central, Notts TV and BBC Radio Nottingham. These included run-up teasers of the event and live interviews on the day with ITV and BBC Radio Nottingham.
We secured national and regional coverage, with a combined reach of more than 900 million across online, broadcast and print media. Regionally, we secured reputable media coverage from the Nottingham Post, Nottingham World and the Mansfield Chad to name but a few.
