THE ISLAND QUARTER
COMMUNICATIONS STRATEGY
BACKGROUND
The Island Quarter (TIQ) is a £1.4 billion 36-acre development site in the centre of Nottingham and the largest urban regeneration site in the UK. Its owner, leading property developer The Conygar Investment Company PLC, tasked Cartwright with a number of requirements: stakeholder engagement, creating strategic relationships with politicians and key organisations and providing a robust communications strategy as well as launching the first phase – 1TIQ – to consumers.
APPROACH
Working with Conygar and its senior project management team, Cartwright assisted in creating The Island Quarter name and brand and website, as well as 1TIQ and its venues – Binks Yard and Cleaver & Wake. We currently provide Conygar with a wide range of services – from stakeholder engagement through to social media, strategic communications regionally and nationally through to reaching out to government bodies.
RESULTS
Over the past five years, we have worked closely with the team, councillors and city council leaders in order to achieve outline planning permission for TIQ – and we are supporting on other planning applications for further phases. We have delivered a multi-channel comms plan – including three ‘webisodes’ during the pandemic, vibrant social media content, PR content and marketing consultancy. In 2022, we helped launch 1TIQ which features bars, restaurants and outdoor entertainment space. We have achieved amazing results across regional and national media – and we continue to provide a wide range of services from our expert team.
